The Polar FT4 heart rate monitor is a perfect training aid for those looking for simplicity in their training. We decided to review this heart rate monitor because we have found a great deal of reviews on it and it really sparked our interest. Little did we know that the Polar FT4 Heart Rate Monitor was as great as it turned out to be. The Polar FT4 Heart Rate Monitor is a heart rate monitor watch for runners who simply want to run. This monitor isn’t laden with superfluous features that require studying the user manual to use. It tracks your heart rate and calories burned, period. You can also upload data to Polar’s online program for an in-depth review of your workouts.
Surprisingly, the Polar FT4 heart rate monitor watch doesn’t have stopwatch features like its competitors do. While we understand Polar wants this watch to have a specific purpose, the addition of a timer can only help that purpose along.
You can record a total of 10 workouts in the Polar FT4’s memory. And because you can upload your workouts to an online tracking program, 10 is plenty of storage. The watch unit is only water resistance to 30 meters, so you won’t be able to track your heart rate well while swimming.
Polar’s HeartTouch feature is beyond cool, making it simple to access training and heart rate information. Instead of pushing a million buttons, simply bring your watch close to the chest transmitter, and it will display your current heart rate. This unit doesn’t have GPS or a power save mode.
Polar does a good job of helping its customers feel connected to the manufacturer. For an in depth review on how to use the Polar FT4 Heart Rate Monitor please watch this video. It actually is much better than the manual. The Polar FT4 is actually on sale on Amazon.com. You can check it out through this link here.

just what I was looking for… GREAT FOR CALORIE COUNTINGBy: Anna BalyasnayaThis review is from: Polar FT4F Heart Rate Monitor Watch (Sports)
I am beyond thrilled with this heart rate monitor and its accuracy, especially the calorie counting.
I had initially purchased the Timex T5G971 Unisex Sports Personal Heart Rate Monitor Watch that came HIGHLY recommended by so many. Even a random customer had recommended it when I went to best buy to buy it. I was so excited to use it but then realized that it was beyond inaccurate… it was giving me a high heart rate and telling me I was burning 1000 calories from a 30 min. bike ride… and my favorite that I burned 130 calories from sitting for 30 min. I am not fitness expert, but this was an obvious and HUGE inaccuracy… and this is a big problem, especially if one is calorie counting. So, this watch had to go. I decided to give this a try after researching some more about heart rate monitors and how calorie counting works. What the timex watch was missing was the crucial values for calorie counting of age, sex, weight, and if I remember correctly, height that this watch has. This watch automatically determined my heart rate zones, and I didnt have to mess around with anything. I was able to program this watch straight out of the box, versus the timex, where the user interface was so damn complicated, I had to get my computer programming husband to figure out how to program the watch……….READ FULL REVIEW
I’ll never workout without this watchBy: Sigmandis
When my trainer told me to get a heart rater monitor I was a little against dropping around $70 on a piece of equipment, but trust me this watch is worth it. I choose the FT4 over the cheaper one button Polar watches after seeing the reviews on how difficult the watch is to use. While I can’t comment on the one button Polar’s I can tell you this little watch has some amazing features. The fabric chest band it comes with is comfortable to wear and stays in place even when you’re sweating. After you input your stats (age, height, weight, sex) into the watch it will calculate your fitness zone and basically act as a trainer itself. At the end of your workout it will tell you your average, and peak heart beat, how many calories you’ve……….READ FULL REVIEW
Comfortable and Easy to Use. So glad I bought the FT4!By: G. Levy “Fitness Obsessed”This review is from: Polar FT4F Heart Rate Monitor Watch (Sports)
My FT4 arrived today (thank you, Amazon Prime!) and I couldn’t wait to try it out. I spent quite some time reading reviews of various heart rate monitors online and ended up deciding on the FT4 based upon the following: I wanted something small for a woman’s wrist, I wanted a monitor with a fabric chest strap and not a plastic one, I wanted something deemed reliable and I didn’t want a basic model but also didn’t want something that would require an engineer to operate.
I was pleased to open up the Polar box and find that the FT4 is petite and fit perfectly on my wrist. It actually looks like a women’s sized watch which was super important to me. I didn’t want anything big and bulky to get in the way of any of my workouts. Then I pulled out the chest strap and transmitter and was happy to find that the chest strap was, in fact, a fabric one and the transmitter wasn’t gigantic. Before I even pulled out the instruction manual I had my watch setup – it’s that intuitive and that easy. You plug in your height, weight, age and gender after inputting the correct time and date. That’s about it.
As per the instructions, I wet the electrodes on the chest strap before putting it on. I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it felt underneath my sports bra (ladies, I hope you’re putting it above your “ladies”) and that the transmitter didn’t get in the way. While working out, the band didn’t rise up or bother me in the least. Nor did the watch itself – I barely noticed that I had it on.
The watch was easy to understand during my workout too. It automatically……….READ FULL REVIEW
